Elena Sloman is the Santa Rosa Symphony Youth Ensembles Manager, beginning in 2021. She has worked as an arts administrator, freelance oboist and music teacher throughout the Bay Area, although nowadays she is largely based solely in Sonoma County (it was too much driving around!).  She holds a master’s degree in oboe performance and literature from the Eastman School of Music and a bachelor’s degree in oboe performance from the USC Thornton School of Music, summa cum laude.  When off the clock from emailing parents rehearsal schedules and setting up countless chairs and stands at rehearsals and concerts, Elena enjoys having a nice quiet day at home watching a TV show/movie or catching up with friends over some good food and a round of trivia. A Sonoma County native, Elena attended Summerfield Waldorf school and participated in the SRS youth ensembles as a young musician and is glad to support the music education program that supported her musical beginnings.
